“Sis, we’re coming back home this week.”
The name “Nandou” sounds, in Taiwanese, exactly like guán-tau — “our home.” When returning guests message Chen Jie to book, the line is often a single sentence: “Sis, we’re coming back home this week to stay.” That’s the feeling we want you to walk into — not checking into a B&B, but coming back home.
Nandou Light opened in 2024 as Chen Jie’s second whole-house B&B, on the same alley as the long-established The Light House — thirty seconds apart on foot. Inside it’s bright, clean, and spacious; every room has its own en-suite bathroom.
Two whole-stay sizes: the full five-room house for fourteen, or three rooms for a smaller group of six to ten (the other two stay closed). Either way, the whole property and every facility are yours — living room, kitchen, dining table, inflatable splash pool, mahjong table, karaoke — the place runs at your pace.
Five rooms in total: two quads with twin beds plus three doubles. The guests we see most are family year-end reunions, three generations on the road together, company retreats, multi-family trips. Chen Jie picks the fixtures with one standard in mind — home: safe for kids to play, comfortable enough for grandparents to settle in, relaxed enough for parents to actually put their phones down.
The alley itself is quiet — but step out and a three-minute walk drops you into the local dining strip just outside the South Gate, packed with street food and restaurants for everything from dinner to late-night. 7-Eleven, PX Mart, and Hengchun Old Street are five minutes on foot.
Hosting a bigger gathering? Book both Nandou Light and The Light House together — up to twenty-eight guests, with flow and space to match.

A truly excellent whole-house stay for our two-day trip. The host is very welcoming and the rooms are bright and spotless — even the bathroom drains were clean, no stray hair. The living room has a KTV with sofas and plenty of bench seating, perfect for everyone to dine and chat together; there is an electric mahjong table on the fourth floor too. The fourth-floor terrace is great for kids — slide, inflatable pool — and stays out of direct sun.
